Project Description

Cartesian Robot that is designed to automate the refuelling process of a vehicle. The system can locate the fuel door on the vehicle, open/close the fuel door, remove/replace the fuel cap and insert a fuel nozzle into the inlet. Capstone project and is in progress.

Tasks and Skills

Electrical Lead

• Motor Selection and torque calculations for the motor selection
• Performed power consumption calculations to select a power supply for the system
• Compontent selection



Mechanical Intern

• Helped with the solidwork design of the system
• Assembled the system
• Designed custom parts in solidworks and 3D printed them
• Helped with machining custom parts for the system using a mill
